As the Economic Development District for Jefferson and Clallam Counties, the NODC is charged with producing a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the region every 5 years with annual updates in between. We also bring people together for discussion, planning and action around key issues facing the region such as broadband access and workforce development and provide tools for planning and evaluation.
Small businesses are important drivers of growth and job creation, helping to create vibrant rural communities. The NODC supports entrepreneurship by offering small business development training and workshops and supporting training offered by our partners.
A thriving working landscape is key to maintaining the natural beauty of the North Olympic Peninsula while also creating economic vitality. The NODC works with partners to develop projects that support food, farm and forest enterprises in the region.
The NODC works with its member and partner organizations to conserve the environment and address threats such as climate change. The NODC is a member of the Strait Ecosystem Recovery Network.
The NODC provides assistance with planning, grant writing, grant administration and project management to member and partner organizations to advance regional projects.
