The North Olympic Peninsula Resource Conservation & Development Council (dba North Olympic Development Council or NODC) empowers the North Olympic Peninsula to invest in and pursue its own economic and environmental destiny. As the Economic Development District for Jefferson and Clallam Counties, NODC works with local governments, community organizations, Tribes and businesses to improve the economy, environment and quality of life in the region. 

NODC is a nonprofit, 501c3 charitable organization. Although most of NODC’s funding comes from federal and state grants, contributions from local individuals, businesses and organizations are vitally important to our work for several reasons:

• Donations support the local matching funds that Federal and state grants almost always require.
• Donations provide flexible funding for development of new projects and community-driven initiatives.
• Donations demonstrate to funders that there is local support for NODC’s work.

Your contribution helps to support programs like these:

• Expansion of sustainable agriculture and local food systems in the region through projects such as business advising for farm and food businesses wanting to expand their business, enter new markets or develop value-adding.
• Coordination of the Clallam County Broadband Committee, working to expand access to high-speed internet to underserved parts of the county.
• Regional renewable energy planning and implementation through projects such as the 2022 and 2023 North Olympic Peninsula Energy Futures conferences and feasibility projects for micro-hydro and tidal energy microgrids.
• Regional planning for climate change adaptation and disaster resiliency.

Since 2001, NODC has worked with local governments and non-profit partners around the region to develop a sustainable economy built on the assets of the amazing place we live – assets like a regional food system based on a network of diversified local farms and ecologically diverse working forests. That mission is more important now than ever. Your contribution will help to continue this vital work.
